Rihanna: ‘We Found Love’ RihView

Rihanna released the video for ‘We Found Love’ earlier today and as she said, the video really does show “love being like a drug” and the ups and downs in a relationship.  The video begins with Rihanna speaking in an Irish accent on what it feels to be in her relationship while the scene constantly changes to clips of her and co-star Dudley O’Shaughnessy having a grand time.

The video continues and we are shown what it is like to be in their relationship. The two appear to be madly and deeply in love with each other for the most part but there are times when we are shown the struggles they experience in their relationship.  It displays their best and worst times.

There is an obvious passion as the two are shown skateboarding, gambling, partying, doing pills and making love among other things. There is also an obvious hate at some points in the video as they are shown fighting in the car, screaming and in the bathtub fully clothed.

The video comes to a close with Rihanna in the fetal position on the floor after she leaves the apartment.

The opening words: “It’s like you’re screaming but no one can hear. You almost feel ashamed that someone could that be that important, that without them you feel like nothing. No one will ever understand how much it hurts. You feel hopeless like nothing can save you. And when it’s over and it’s gone, you almost wish that you could have all that bad stuff back so you could have the good.”     Really do describe what is happening in the video between the couple. This is truly Rihanna’s best (and my favourite) music video. It isn’t one based on fantasy and a life of fame and glamour. But one based on reality that many of her fans can relate to.
