Lady Gaga Named Top Earning Woman In Music By Forbes ; Followed By Taylor Swift & Katy Perry
Lady Gaga recently took hold of the No.1 spot on the Forbes top-earning women in music list. She raked in a staggering $90 million US dollars for the fiscal year of 2011, which was brought about by record-breaking album sales of ‘Born This Way,’ a world tour for the album and multiple endorsements by companies such as VivaGlam and Virgin Mobile.
Surprisingly, country singer Taylor Swift came in at No.2 with $45 million. These earnings all came about due to her ‘Speak Now’ album, her Wonderstruck perfume, her tour and Cover Girl contract.
Katy Perry, who also executed a lengthy tour scored in the No.3 position with $44 million. There is no doubt that she garnered all this cash through her summer album “Teenage Dream” which also gave her record breaking five chart topping singles.
British angel Adele grabbed the No.9 spot with a total of $18 million, which came about from the record-breaking sales of her album “21.” Adele was forced to cancel her tour due to inevitable illness but if she were able to carry out a worldwide tour, her profits would have definitely been much higher.
Mommy-to-be Beyoncé owns the No.4 position with $35 million and Barbadian beauty Rihanna sits at No.5 with $29 million. Celine Dion rolls right in front of Adel by a mere $1 million, which secured her the No.8 spot with $19 million. Pink grabs No.6 with $22 million. Both Britney Spears & Alicia keys hold the 10th position with $10 million each.

Lady Gaga Is The Dream Collaborator Of Both LMFAO & David Guetta
Madison Square Garden was packed to capacity earlier this week when Z100 held their annual Jingle Ball Concert. Some of music’s biggest names headed to New York to perform at the concert, which featured artists such as Lady Gaga, David Guetta, Pitbull and LMFAO.
MTV News caught up with hit makers LMFAO and David Guetta to find out who they were interested in collaborating with and to no surprise, they both said Lady Gaga topped their lists.
“Probably Gaga,” said RedFoo of LMFAO. “Let’s do some dancing, let’s do some partying, see what we can do, you know? Some fashion, come out there — it could be amazing.”
French DJ David Guetta, who is known for his collaborations with top class artists such as Usher and Rihanna, also had Mother Monster in mind. “Listen, I’m ready, you should ask her! That would be great, of course,” he said. “She’s really a creative genius, and I told her the other day that I saw her last video [‘Marry the Night’] and, again, amazing. I love creative people; it’s what I live for. Obviously, she’s really amazing.” A Gaga and Guetta collab would probably be the most interesting seeing as how they both focus on Electronic Dance Music.
With these two artists wanting to collab with Gaga, Santa may make all of their Christmas wishes come true Gaga also spoke very highly of Guetta’s work so we never know what could be coming in the future.
Lady Gaga Often Heard Her Parents Having Sex
Lady Gaga grew up in a cozy apartment on the Upper West Size of New York City where she heard everything that went on in the house. There were no doors in the apartment so she frequently heard her parents bringing down the house.
During her interview with ‘The Sun,’ she said: “My parents’ room and the one I shared with my sister were on the top floor. There are no doors on the bedrooms. My parents could hear everything me and my sister said growing up. And I heard them too!”
Gaga is open about any and everything so this announcement comes as no surprise. During the lighting of the Christmas tree at Madison Square Garden, she also announced that she fears domestication. “I love being with my parents, but I also really fear domestication. I just don’t have a home. I stay between my friends’ places and my parents’.”
Maybe once day Mother Monster will be able to settle down. Once it doesn’t affect her art!
Mitch Winehouse Denies Saying Lady Gaga Should Play His Daughter In Biopic
A couple of days ago, rumours were circulating about Amy Winehouse’s father wanting Lady Gaga to play Amy in a possible Biopic. However, Mitch Winehouse has responded to the rumours saying that even though a Biopic is still a possibility, he never wanted Gaga to play Amy.
A representative for the Winehouse family spoke to Entertainment Weekly on the matter saying: “Mitch and the family would entertain ideas perhaps for a film but only one they were sure would tell the truth.”
He also addressed the matter of Gaga playing Amy via his Twitter account. “I never said Lady Gaga will play Amy in film. Also Amy’s room not a shrine. Wot a load of rubbish,” he tweeted.
This may be sad news for the little monsters out there who wanted to see their mother as Amy on the big screen but have no fear, she’ll make it there sometime soon.
Lady Gaga Praises Radio For Being “The Biggest Influence On The Rise Of Electronic Dance Music”
“I was just one of a few artists at a certain sort of time in radio where more dance music was being played on top 40,” said Lady Gaga. The tabloids have recently been giving praise to mother monster for the recent surge of electronic dance music but she took some time with MTV to set the record straight.
Many of us remember Lady Gaga as the energetic blonde who jumped onto the music scene back in 2008 with her smash hit “Just Dance.” At this point Gaga was one of the only artists infusing electronic dance music with the mainstream pop movement. Gaga more or less created the trend, which is prominent in most of today’s music with mega stars such as Rihanna and Nicki Minaj following in her footsteps.
However, Gaga refused to take the credit: “I think that radio has had the biggest influence on the rise of electronic dance music,” she told MTV. “I was just one of a few artists at a certain sort of time in radio where more dance music was being played on top 40, but I’m not the person to thank for that. The people to thank for that are at KIIS-FM and at the other stations around the country who gave dance music a chance.”
Mother Monster also spoke about the fact that DJ’s such as Skrillex and David Guetta are now receiving much more recognition than in the past. Skrillex in particular is known for his dubstep productions and was nominated for Best New Artist at the Grammy Awards. This made him the first DJ ever to be recognized in that category.
“It’s nice to see DJs being honored in new artist categories,” Gaga said, “but I think we still have more work to do, especially with the different academies that honor music. I think dance music should also be credited as pop music, and vice versa, the way that country and pop is, the way that R&B and pop are.”
Gaga definitely thinks that there is more work to be done but she sees a bright future ahead for EDM and those associated with it. “So we still have a ways to go, but it’s moving in a wonderfully fast and interesting direction,” she said.
Lady Gaga Wanted To Play Amy Winehouse In Biopic
Mitch Winehouse, father of the late Amy Winehouse has been busy with his managerial tasks since the passing of his daughter. He recently told the Sunday Mirror that “heard that Lady Gaga is keen to play Amy in a film.”
Mitch seems to be all for the idea but expresses one concern, that being her ability to flawlessly execute Amy’s accent. He said, “I don’t know what her English accent is like, but it’s not just an English accent she would have to perfect — it’s an English-Cockney-Jewish accent so she better start practicing now! But she would be great.”
He sat with Gaga’s parents during Tony Bennett’s birthday party and he thinks, “They are just normal folk and very lovely people.” Lady Gaga and Amy had a history together and Gaga even makes references to her during her interviews about the ‘Marry the Night’ music video.
With all of the news going around and the desire by both parties to cast Gaga for the role, it would be no surprise if we see Mother Monster doing her thing on the big screen.

We all know Lady Gaga’s little monsters would climb every mountain and cross every sea for their mother, so it comes as no shock that they would show limitless dedication to her. Her fans love her so much that they’ve dedicated an entire day to celebrate her single, ‘Marry The Night.’
Little Monsters Worldwide have designated December 20th as ‘Marry The Night’ day where they will attempt to help Gaga achieve another record making single. This global phenomenon will require fans all around the world to download the single at 4 PM local time on iTunes.
If all goes according to plan and little monsters play their part, Lady Gaga would have achieved a staggering increase on the iTunes chart and potentially a #1 single all because of you!

Lady Gaga: ‘Marry The Night’: From Nothing To Everything – The Lady Gaga Story
Lady Gaga has worked her way to the top of the charts over these past few years becoming one of the greatest artists that contemporary pop culture has to offer. Not only does Lady Gaga outshine most artists with her vocal abilities – she has become the latest testimony to art. Her extraordinary ability to transform her visions into reality has taken her over many platforms. Gaga has moved gracefully across the music, fashion, film and art scenes causing shock and awe as she creates visual and audial masterpieces. No, she is not an ordinary woman, nor is she just another performer. Lady Gaga is a true artist.
Lady Gaga released the music video for her latest focus, ‘Marry The Night’ and it was much more than anticipated. The 13 minute 51 second production cannot be called a music video but instead can be better referred to as a mini-film directed by Gaga herself. The production serves as a biographical piece showcasing the dark days that Gaga lived through during her rise to fame. It gives us a taste of Mother Monster going from “Nothing To Everything.”
During her interview with “E!” prior to the mini-film’s global release, she spoke on the time of her life when she was dropped by Island Def Jam. “It was one of the worst days of my life and it happened quite quickly, but in my mind, when I think back on that period of my life, it all happened very slow,” she said.
It opens with Gaga in a gurney being pushed by two nurses outfitted in next season Calvin Klein and tilted gauze caps. She seems to be in a psych ward or asylum of some kind where she is under the care of the nurse who was present during her birth. With tears in her eyes, Gaga tells the nurse, “I’m gonna be a star. You know why?” “Because I have nothing left to lose.”
Following a French expression, the scene changes to Gaga as a ballerina alone on stage. It changes again to a topless Gaga laying in bed on the telephone. We then see Gaga playing the piano naked, destroying her room, smashing mirrors, eating Cheerios and finally, in the tub dying her hair blue while singing the songs hook.
In a voiceover she says, “I lost everything, but I still had my bedazzler and wreaked havoc on old denim.” “I did what any girl would do, I did it all over again.” we see a grown Gaga in a bedazzled denim outfit and then the action begins.
The scene changes again to Gaga sneaking into a car through the sunroof with the moon ad burning vehicles as her only source of illumination. She is then seen dancing in a studio with other aspiring dancers.
The rest of the video more or less maintains the same scenes with a few flashbacks of Gaga going mad in a bathtub and of her dancing with others in the street.
There we have it, a mini-film that shows the life and career of Lady Gaga. When it was all done, she told E! “I am destined to struggle, I am destined to write music about the struggle, and I accept it willingly.” The mini-film is essentially about Gaga’s Struggles in life and her ability to overcome these challenges.
As the title suggests, the mini-film is about her marrying her personal difficulties. Marry The Night.
Care To Rent Lady Gaga’s Former NYC Apartment?
Lady Gaga’s former NYC apartment located on the Lower East side is now back on the market. The apartment, located at 176 Stanton Street can be rented for a shockingly affordable monthly payment of $1,850.
The three bedroom apartment is on the third floor of the building and pets are allowed. It’s also a great spot due to the fact that it’s minutes away from trains and the party scene. To sweeten the deal, Clinton Street Baking Company is only a few steps away from the building.
All in all, its not a pretty bad price if you’re sure that you can handle that kind of rent. It’s rather steep but hey, that’s what a place in the city is going for these days.
Lady Gaga To Hold A Book Party On November 22nd
Lady Gaga partnered with photographer Terry Richardson to create the coffee table photo book ‘Lady Gaga X Terry Richardson,’ and the two will celebrate the book’s launch with a party.
The book features more than 350 shots of Gaga, which were taken during the one-month where Richardson had full access to Mother Monster. Those lucky enough to gain entry will head to New York City at the New Museum on November 22nd.
According to The Gothamist, both Gaga and Richardson will be there to sign copies from 6 P.M. to 9 P.M. From tomorrow, enthusiasts will be able to pre-order the book at the New Museum Store from tomorrow. It must also be done in person.
