Rihanna Covers British Vogue

Rihanna is back and she is covering the November issue of British Vogue. On this cover, the ‘Loud’ superstar sports a Marilyn Monroe look while on the inside, she gives us insight about her life.

On the inside, she talks about the superstar role and sexy image that she puts on in order to satisfy her fans.  She also reveals that her public expects her to set an example and that she really has no control over it.

“That’s not me. That’s a part I play. You know, like it’s a piece of art, with all these toys and textures to play with,” she says. “See, people — especially white people — they want me to be a role model just because of the life I lead. The things I say in my songs, they expect it of me and [being a role model] became more of my job than I wanted it to be. But no, I just want to make music. That’s it.”

She also took the time to explain that the life of fame and glamour is not as amazing as it may seem. A life with her parents, including Ronald Fenty, a former crack addict, helped to mold her into the person that she is today.

“I saw too much. I was way too mature for my age,” she says. “Look, God doesn’t give any more than you can handle. I had to get through a lot of ups and downs — big downs — and a lot of trial and error to get where I am now.”

The issue reaches shelves worldwide on Thursday so make sure to pick up your copy.
