Rihanna Lashes Back At Dutch Magazine
Rihanna recently took to Twitter to respond to a fashion writer’s comments in the latest issue of “Jackie,” the Dutch Magazine. The article, which degrades the Barbadian singer refers to her as the “ultimate n****b***” and consists of multiple inaccuracies.
The writer’s comment read: “Ze heb street cred, ze heb een ghetto ass, en ze heb dat gouden keeltje. Rihanna, the good girl gone bad, is de ultieme niggabitch en etaleert dat graag, en dat betekent bij haar: wat aan is, kan uit…”
The Dutch version will be of no help to those of you who speak English so here is a more direct translation: “She has street cred, she has a ghetto ass and she has a golden throat. Rihanna, the good girl gone bad, is the ultimate niggabitch and displays that gladly, and for her that means: what’s on can come off. If that means she’ll be on stage half naked, then so be it. But Dutch winters aren’t like Jamaican ones, so pick a clothing style in which your daughter can resist minus ten. No to the big sunglasses and the pornheels, and yes to the tiger print, pink shizzle and everything that glitters. Now let’s hope she won’t beat anybody up at daycare.” Read the rest of this entry
Barbados’ Finest: Behind The Scenes – Imogen Cooper
Who is Imogen Cooper you ask? Imogen Alexandra Cooper is the exquisite and illustrious 18 year old beauty born right here in the sunny island of Barbados. Bursting with talent, Imogen has developed over a number of years to become one of the most elite and highly requested models in the local industry.
Throughout the years, she has worked with some of Barbados’ most recognized photographers such as Mikey Rap (Now known as Michael Alexander), Khalil Goodman and Jaryd Niles- Morris. Imogen has also appeared at BB Fashion Week where she walked for some of the most reputable designers such as Alexis Campbell & Kesia Estwick. During this show, she also walked for Fashion’s very own Christian Siriano.
If this isn’t enough to warrant recognition, Imogen was selected to play a part in J.Cole’s music video for ‘Can’t Get Enough’ which featured Trey Songz and an appearance from Rihanna. To put the icing on the cake, she most recently hosted the launch of the flagship Louis Vuitton store at the Limegrove Lifestyle Centre.
All in all, Imogen Alexandra Cooper can easily be recognized as one of the most elite and one of Barbados’ Finest. Lady Gaga Is The Dream Collaborator Of Both LMFAO & David Guetta
Madison Square Garden was packed to capacity earlier this week when Z100 held their annual Jingle Ball Concert. Some of music’s biggest names headed to New York to perform at the concert, which featured artists such as Lady Gaga, David Guetta, Pitbull and LMFAO.
MTV News caught up with hit makers LMFAO and David Guetta to find out who they were interested in collaborating with and to no surprise, they both said Lady Gaga topped their lists.
“Probably Gaga,” said RedFoo of LMFAO. “Let’s do some dancing, let’s do some partying, see what we can do, you know? Some fashion, come out there — it could be amazing.”
French DJ David Guetta, who is known for his collaborations with top class artists such as Usher and Rihanna, also had Mother Monster in mind. “Listen, I’m ready, you should ask her! That would be great, of course,” he said. “She’s really a creative genius, and I told her the other day that I saw her last video [‘Marry the Night’] and, again, amazing. I love creative people; it’s what I live for. Obviously, she’s really amazing.” A Gaga and Guetta collab would probably be the most interesting seeing as how they both focus on Electronic Dance Music.
With these two artists wanting to collab with Gaga, Santa may make all of their Christmas wishes come true Gaga also spoke very highly of Guetta’s work so we never know what could be coming in the future.
Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show
New York exploded last night as hundreds of guests and some A-list performers arrived for the annual Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show at the Lexington Avenue Armory. Kanye West, Jay-Z, Nicki Minaj and Maroon 5 all performed their biggest hits throughout the runway show.
First to hit the runway was Kanye West who dedicated his performance to his late mother. “In 2007, I was supposed to perform this song … Then my mom passed away,” he said. “She was my superhero — now she’s my super angel.” He proceeded to perform his hit ‘Stronger’ before Jay-Z joined him on stage and the two performed ‘N***as In Paris.” Kanye rocked a Versace X H&M Jacket (Which was released the night before) along with black leather pants and Air Yeezy 2’s.
Nicki Minaj was next on the runway. She hopped on wearing a curled pink bob wig, shoulder pads and neon pumps. Minaj then performed a remixed version of her hit ‘Super Bass.’ Maroon 5 was last but by no means the least as they blew the roof off as the models strutted to their hit, ‘Moves Like Jagger.”
As the show came to an end, the Angels and the performers came onstage and danced to Lady Gaga’s ‘Born This Way’ as balloons and confetti rained down onto the catwalk ( as is tradition ). This year’s show was one of the sexiest ever!

Nicki Minaj Joins Performers Lineup For Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show
While Cee Lo pulled out of the upcoming Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show, the big guys over at VS decided to replace him with someone much better, that person being Nicki Minaj. With the replacement taking immediate effect, Nicki will join an A-list lineup that includes Maroon 5 and Kanye West.
The Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show is the biggest night in lingerie fashion. So don’t forget to tune into CBS on November 29th to see the Victoria’s Secret Angels strut their stuff in skimpy lingerie to some A-list music.
Jessie J Covers Cosmopolitan U.K.
British Pop Diva Jessie J sports a salute and a fierce wink on the cover of December’s issue of Cosmopolitan U.K. The issue’s headline, “Jessie J: I’ve dated guys and girls – so what?,” is sure to bring even more sales to one of the most popular magazines around.
The ‘Price Tag’ singer is also out to make a fashion statement wearing a polka-dot bustier and gold, high-waisted short shorts. She also sports her signature shiny bob along with what seem to be speakers on each side of her head. She completes the look with a red lipstick, and the outfit just screams Jessie J !
Cosmo posted a video from the cover shoot which shows the stylists sorting through racks of clothes, and of course, shows Ms.J going through countless poses for the photographer.
The singer tweeted earlier saying, “Who has got or seen my Cosmo cover this month so honored to be on the cover!!”

BB Fashion Week
The three day event consisted of runway shows, competitions, workshops and parties hosted by multiple experts in the industry. The annual fashion event featured numerous creations from local, regional and international designers including: Alexis Campbell, Andre Watson, Andrew Harris, Anthony Redhead, Christina Goddard, Deron Attzs, J Angelique Clothing, Kesia Estwick, Kimon Baptiste, Marice Lindey, Nerkida Jones, Praxis Barbados, S.M. WARNER: Art with Attitude, Sharleen J Lagon Jaeyluinc, Shaune Griffith Perez Designs, Simon Peter Simply Garnetts, Stacy Smith and Susan Burrowes & Deniese Dennis.
The collections that were displayed were simply amazing. They were detailed, bold and appealing; there was something for everyone. The first night featured local designers with the second and third nights featuring regional designers and Christian Siriano respectively.
Of course, the first two nights were interesting but my favourite collection was that of Christian Siriano, the winner of Project Runway Season 4.
Christian Siriano’s Spring 2012 Collection was centered around the idea of a cool, chic style fit for everyone. The collection was filled with stripes, bright oranges, reds, greens and a variety of dresses and skirts. The collection was one full of stylish and wearable clothing.
BB Fashion Week has evolved from a weekend of fashion to a showcase of designers and models to the international world. Producer Rodney Powers has successfully developed BB Fashion Week as a brand with the introduction of worldwide fashion entities such as fashiontv and Elite Model Management. The fashion showcase has become the ideal event for designers and models alike to market themselves on a global level.
